Starting in November, CONNECT will offer FBX and GLTF file formats, alongside the existing ZPRJ format, for garment assets. This update expands accessibility, allowing both CLO and Marvelous Designer users, as well as new users without these licenses, to download and use garments in compatible 3D software. Creators don’t need to make any adjustments—CONNECT will handle the format conversions. This addition aims to attract more consumers and broaden our customer base.
For Creators:
- Expanded Audience Reach: By offering FBX and GLTF formats, garments are more compatible with various 3D platforms, expanding the potential user base and visibility for each asset.
- Streamlined Process: No extra steps are needed—CONNECT handles the file conversions, allowing creators to focus on their work without worrying about compatibility requirements.
- Increased Sales Opportunities: Since the formats are more accessible to users without CLO or Marvelous Designer, creators can reach a broader market, potentially boosting downloads and sales.
For Consumers:
- Broader compatibility: FBX and GLTF formats enable users to incorporate garment assets seamlessly into a wide range of 3D applications – including game engines, AR/VR platforms, and general-purpose 3D software.
- Lowered entry barrier: New consumers who do not own CLO or Marvelous Designer can now download and use garment assets directly in compatible software, making CONNECT content accessible to a broader audience.
- Ease of Use: With the conversion handled by CONNECT, users get ready-to-use files without extra processing, simplifying the experience, whether they are using advanced design software or exploring 3D for the first time.
